Default Pilot Nerf Bar Poll

Hi guys-

I just purchased a 2011 Honda Pilot and I'm struggling with the best nerft bars to buy. I read some posts on the forum about Ebay Nerf bars. I don't have an issue spending more money for a quality product but don't want to if it's not necessary. I'm struggling on what to put on and don't want to spend $500 if not necessary. I was curious if Pilot owners with Nerf bars would post what brand they have and prices paid? I was also wondering if you get any road noise with them or decreased gas mileage. All input much appreciated.

Thanks
Terry

I got my running boards from this website. You can see how much I paid for mine. 2011 Pilot EX-L 4WD

Great looking running boards, maxummus!

I'm currently looking for either running boards or step bar because wifey wanted it. I honestly love the clean look of the pilot without running boards or step bars but since we have a 9-year old, it's a matter of functions vs. looks. Hehe!

Thanks for the link!

Unfortunately, the website doesn't have stock of these at the moment.

09-11 2011 Honda Pilot Black Nerf Bars | eBay

Above is what I bought, AMAZING price, took 2 hours to install with a friend and looks great! If you are good with the look, no need to buy something more expensive. I think it looks more ruggest with something like this over running boards.

Thats great! How was the installation? Don't you have any issues with the brackets? Is it sturdy after the installation?

I was eyeing the chrome one but was hesitant because of what iggibar has experienced.

Thanks!

Installation wasn't bad, took some finesse to get everything to line up but they did. They had different size bolts & washers and it was difficult seperating them out, so take your time getting everything organized first.

There is a wee little give when I step on it, but very minor.
Overall feels sturdy. I will probably get down there every year or two and retighten everything up.
I would be hesitant on accepting the 600 lb limit but my 200 lbs is fine, what iggibar did looks great but that is beyond my skill set.

As for chrome vs black, I was hesitant with the chrome due seeing some other cars on the road with rust or them looking bad when not cleaned. The black plays off well with the black accents and tires on my EX.

For the price, they have been great so far.
Good Luck!

Thanks for replies. I have a Dark Cherry and wanted to go with the stainless. I bought a pair of steel crafts for $198 shipped from autoanybody. I almost bought the stainless one's from the site you bought the black one's off Ohio Pilot but went with these. I'm anxious to get them and put them on. Thanks for feedback guys.

I was thinking of going black for the price, but I got the black touring and i think the chrome would compliment the chrome strips on the doors.
