Quote:
- what your Pilot is - version of iOS - how you connect the device to the Pilot (bluetooth, AUX, USB, etc) There's a known issue (at least from what I read here) regarding the use of bluetooth then via USB. But your case might be different.

I have a 2011 Pilot Touring and just upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.0. I too use to stream Pandora all the time via USB perfectly. Ever since upgrading though, it plays for 30 seconds and then I get the "unsupported" error. Has anyone found a fix for this?!?
Also, I only know how to play my iPod on the phone via USB. How can I set this up to play wirelessly/Bluetooth so I don't have to plug it in??? Thanks!!! |

In my 2012, I just did the pairing process once (see the manual for more details).
Once paired, all you have to do is select bluetooth as your audio source. Open up your Pandora app, and it should stream the audio.

Geeger - bluetooth audio streaming is a feature of the 2012 models. On the 2009 - 2011 models, bluetooth is only enabled for phone functions - you have to plug in your iPhone via the USB jack to listen to your music...

Okay. I too was getting the "unsupported" message. 2011 Pilot Touring Model. iphone 4S using 5.0 software. I tried another Apple USB cord and still had the same problem. I was trying to play a podcast through the USB. It worked fine for about 30 seconds, as mentioned earlier in this thread, and then stopped playing and got the "unsupported" message. After messing around with it a little, I found that after I plugged in the USB connector, hit the AUDIO button to the lower left of the navigation input knob and selected the artist/song using the menu on the nav system it didn't reprodue the "unsupported" message and it played just fine. Hope this helps.

I feel is a conflict with the music player app and Pandora/iHeartRadio/Spotfy. I have found that iHeartRadio works the best of the 3, with the Artist/Song listing on the display and I can skip songs with the steering wheel. Pandora tends to be temperamental.

I bought a 2011 EX-L on 2/23 with full knowledge that there were some iPhone/iPod limitations. With Pandora, having to reboot the phone every time becomes annoying. One of our users commented about iHeart Radio, so I tried it instead of Pandora. After 3 days of using iHeart, I've had no problems. I've tried it using different scenarios of vehicle on/off, phone on/off, HFL interruption, etc. and so far it still plays with no interruption. The MIF screen in "Audio" mode does not always display the song/artist/album information accurately, but I can live with that.
Regarding the, "Import Cellular Phonebook" issue - as one of our users noted in a previous post, that function is not listed as compatible with any of the iPhone models or iOS versions. I was fortunate to have a salesman who had experienced the same phonebook issue, so he researched it for his job. He confirmed that it isn't likely to happen soon and advised that the best alternative he found was to simply use the HFL setup process to load your own phonebook, one entry at a time. While it may be inconvenient, it only needs doing once and doesn't have to be loaded all at once. As he said to me, "When you find that you're going to call a number, add it to the phonebook on the fly." The other alternative is to use the iPhone itself for phonebook and make your calls that way, albeit somewhat more unsafely than the HFL. |
