Default New iPhone update (iOS4) not compatible with Pilot navigation system!

I've been using my iphone 3GS with version 3.1.3 software for a while now without issues. Yesterday I updated my software to version 4 and now when I connect the phone to the USB port, it shows that its not compatible!! Argh!

I miss the ability to control my iPhone through the car's navigation system.

Becareful and really think about it before you upgrade. Anyone else have this happen? Is there a solution???

Thanks,
John

My 3GS w/ iOS 4 still works the same as it always has. I still get the initial "This accessory is not supported" message on the iPhone itself (just like on the 3.x software) but that is nothing new. The Honda's iPod interface still works fine with it. Maybe you need to reset your phone? (hold home button and power button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo). What year Pilot do you have? Mine is a '10. If yours is an '09 model, that might explain the difference.

I am having the same problem as John. I am encouraged by Henry as I have the 2010 Pilot too - so it should work. Unless there is a software compatibility difference within the model year. Going to try the rest option a see what happens....

I have a 2009 (purchased in Aug 08') and my 3GS with iOS4 works great. I can still scroll through songs using the Honda navigation bar.

My iOS4 also allows multi-task (safari, email, facebook, etc) on the phone while I am connected to the Honda ipod doc. I can also use Pandora and mulitask simultaneously however I can only control the Pandora songs on the iPhone.

Very pleased (on many levels) to report that the iPhone 4 works without any issues.

It's also very nice to note that they have changed the "nag" message when you connect it from the message giving you the option to turn on Airplane mode (or not) to just a message letting you know some crap and then only ONE "Dismiss" button.

I just picked up my iPhone 4 this afternoon. I can't wait to try it out as well.

Default Reset worked, thank you!

HenryBravo, thanks for the post suggesting iphone reset. I was getting the annoying "Unsupported" message on my '10 Pilot radio after updating my 3G S firmware to 4.0. Tasting life without pandora in my pilot was dreadful (kids upset also!), and now after the reset I'm back in business.

The hard reset mentioned above did not fix your problem? Also, make sure the ignition key is in the off position when you plug in your phone, as it seems to initialize better that way.

There is no software update for the Pilot at this time to improve iOS4 compatibility. The Pilot interface w/ iOS 4 does seem to be a bit buggy at times based on my experience.
