Thanks. Yes, those are the instructions I am using. Whilst they are pretty clear on every other step, they don't clearly show how to release the dummy connector other than just by pulling, which so far hasn't worked.

Mine may just be stuck, but was wondering if anyone had the trick to easily release it.

I'm going out of my mind with that silly dummy connector..... I guess I'm the real dummy because I can't get the dam thing off.

Big fingers....cold ground...I'm more than a little peeved right now. Why do they have to make the simplest things the most difficult?

Ended up pulling the connector off the car and then cutting the dummy connector tab so the dam thing would come off. Jeeeesh.

Now I can't get the fuse cover off... Two retaining tabs... One top, one on the bottom.... Do I squeeze to remove? Lift to remove? What the heck? I can't get my fingers in there either.

I HATE TABS!!!

Okay... had to bend the fuse box out of the way enough to see what was holding it on there. Easy once I could see something.

Would be easy to do next time....

Ended up taking mine to the dealer. They couldn't believe how tight it was in there. Took them 15 minutes to remove it, with the car up on the lift!

The rest of the install was easy, and all works nicely now!

Anyone have problems with trailer lights not working after installation of the kit? I have a camper and the running lights work but only one turn signal and no brake lights are working. I hooked it to my dad's Ridgeline and all is good so I know its not the camper.

Any suggestions?

Default Harness

After seeing (and being disgusted with) what was in the dealer's kit... I ordered and installed the following. Install was just like what was listed above for the OEM kit, works great so far.

Very helpful. Thanks for the link to the kit. The video makes it very simple. Simple is good.

Had the first set of fuses burn quick, check those. Also, make sure you have the fuses and relays in the right spot in the compartment in the back drivers side. My running lights blew a fuse about an hour into the trip, new fuse and never had a problem again.

As far as the dummy plug, get the clip unhooked on the side, then you have to pry the heck out of it from all sides to loosen it up. Mine went so well, a friend asked to help on his. His was not as easy to get out.

Careful looking at some of the aftermarket kits. Some splice into existing circuits and do not go through the trailer circuits honda wired. According to the mechanic who just changed my VTM, he had one burn up the electrical and they refused to cover it under warranty - Pilot on the rack next to mine.
