Angry Cracked Fog light lenses

I notice recently that BOTH my fog light lenses have cracked. I have not been in any frontal collisions. I showed them to my mechanic friend and he said that it was due to a poor seal allowing condensation to get inside the housing. He felt that it could most likely be replaced under warranty.

Anyone else have this issue and has Honda fixed it?

No issue with my fogs, but can you post a pic?

Willing to be any dealer will blame stones and want to charge you.

According to the link below, you have to replace the entire unit.

If you have no glass deductible, then put the bill into your insurance company for payment

Had this problem with the fog lights on our Odyssey, the dealer replaced them under warranty. Bought protective films from "wong" and, knock on wood, have not had the problem again.

thats one of the reasons why I put on the 3m clear bra, to help protect from stones breaking the fogs and even the headlights. Not only that, after time, the lenses get pits in them.

Brutal! I got one housing replaced on warranty. I never got around to covering it up with 3M film and now it has cracked also. Either I have the worst luck or there is a design flaw (3 cracked lenses in less than 3 years).

Why a glass lens and not Lexan (or whatever covers the headlights)? I guess Honda doesn't think it's an issue since they have the same lens in the 2012 model.

Has anyone else had their fog light lenses crack?

I'm thinking of ordering from these guys?

What film are people using to cover them? I'm thinking I may want to buy that since I do so much highway driving.

I've used Lamin-X on all of my rides in the past. This is a reminder that I need to buy some for the Pilot. I already spent $140 on one fog lamp.

Our 2012 Pilot is less than 4 months old and I noticed today that the passenger fog light is cracked. It's obvious that a rock hit it and caused the damage. The stealership wants $200 for a replacement. I have been searching the web for a part #/replacement with not a whole lot of luck. Has anyone found a good location to get the replacement?

I have another 10 year old Mountaineer with fog light..... Did a lot of highway/off-road driving..... None of the lights ever cracked.

I think the Pilot's fogs light must have a manufacturing defect

You can look up the part here: Honda Automotive Parts
OEMAcuraParts.com sponsors this site, so you might shop there first: OEM Acura Parts | Acura Parts | Cheap Acura Parts

The part number is 33900-STK-A11 and costs about $115.
Google that P/N and you'll find numerous others places to buy it.
Check with your local Honda (and Acura) dealers, too.

To install the replacement unit yourself, the instructions for the LX fog lamp kit will serve as a guide:

Nope, no defect as fogs on other Honda fogs crack just as much. They are cheap glass that's all.

I just came across this thread! maybe you can make a plastic/acyrilic clear replacement lens if you're a handy guy.
