Default JVC Plug n Play Unit

I bought the JVC KT-SR1000 for my Pilot, it comes with a cradle that's meant to attach by means of a large suction pad. I cannot find anywhere in the car (other than the windows) that is smooth enough for this to stick to. Does anyone else have this unit? I do not want to have to drill holes to attach the unit as it is a leased vehicle. Any ideas anybody?

Well, Google tells me that you are trying to mount a Sirius satellite radio tuner. It looks like there is an optional docking cradle.

Sorry, but I can't find any install instructions for either. If you don't get a cradle, you best bet is probably the center console tray.

Granted it's a lease vehicle, but you may want to invest about $30.00 or so in Profit brand vehicle mount. It is pretty easy to mount in the Pilot without drilling. Granted it is a specific application, but then again it protects your unit from getting knocked around and offers less potential for the unit to become a projectile should an accident occur. You could also search E-bay unde Sirius or XM mount and find some less costly and easily added mounts.

For an example of an install using a Profit Vehicle Specific Mount for my XM Skyfi, please refer to the the thread here. .

The link should drop you into the thread about midway and show a VSM being mounted. I show my install a few pages later. Granted we did more involved installs to provide a direct connection to the headunit, but you may want to conisder just the mount to keep things tidy and safe. The Profit mount can be purchased via the xmfanstore website. I am pretty sure you could find a Sirius link once redirected to the Profit site.
Good luck!

Thanks for the help.

I've just been to Pro-Fits web site and ordered exactly what I needed.

Thanks again.

Gald to be of help! If you have an opportunity post photos post-install. If I remember correctly most of the install pictures to this point have been of XM set-ups. It would be nice to see the Sirius hardware. Good luck with the install, it isn't too tough of a job to tackle.
