Interesting that the original "rendering" had a sleeker look BUT the changes they made all added to the practicality of the vehicle.

Default Pre-production version at 2002 Detroit Auto Show

Before I went to the show, I read about the Pilot here:

http://www.cardesignnews.com/autosho...lot/index.html

After seeing the Pilot at the Detroit show, I decided to wait instead of jumping on the MDX. After seeing it again in Toronto, I finally decided on Pilot.

Some good memories of "waiting for Honda to build you an SUV" experience.

Good pics, Kemo, thanks for sharing!

Thumbs up WWW URL

bkwon: Thanks for the URL -- I have seen those "prototype" drawings scattered throughout different web sites on the WWW, but wasn't able to find a web site that contained all of them with a write-up of the Pilot...!!!

cafecat: The rendering was a concept on paper, probably during the exterior design phase, before Honda finally settled on the final look that you see in the 2003 Pilot...

First time seeing these pics - hopefully the next Pilot will be more aerodynamic than the current model...
