Hey folks,
Just wanted to say what a pleasure it was for me to find this site and the wealth of information I've read on it so far. I wanted to introduce myself, and show some of my previous cars as well as some background information on me personally. Please do not view this as an attempt out of narcissicism, but as a way for you guys to know me a little better so you may know where I am coming from in future posts. I've been a car guy since high school, and have always enjoyed and still do - all things to do with cars. This includes and is not limited to, driving, reading about, working on, talking with others, attending events/shows/meets, etc., etc. I worked in the medical field (laser refractive surgery industry) after my undergrad, and then became a flight attendant to satiate the travel bug. I met the girl that was to be my wife, got married, and am currently back in graduate school purusing a masters in marital & family therapy. We had a baby daughter on Christmas morning, which has been an extreme joy. I enjoy modifying cars and trying new things, and admit that I have made and will continue to make mistakes here and there, but am very open to learning from them. When it comes to modifying a car, improvements are the general goal, and I choose modifications based on how they are able to improve a specific facet or overall experience of the car. Some of my previous cars that I am especially proud of are my 1999 C230K that eventually got featured in Eurotuner magazine, as well as the one I traded in for the Pilot - a 2003 Honda S2000. I loved that car, and still do, but with the new arrival of our baby daughter on Christmas morning, it was time for something with more room. I tried to hang on to the car for a few more months, but as my wife is returning to work soon, I gave in and parted it out and traded it in for the Pilot. We had a deposit down for an FJ Cruiser, and it came and we drove it and loved the way it drove. But there were a few things that we felt were lacking on a $31k car, and as it was a brand-new model there were no discounts available. So we took a look at the Pilot and felt that it was far more car for the money. Granted, the off-road capabilities are lacking compared to the FJ, but we honestly evaluated how often we would do that anyway. The FJ definitely is definitely higher on the novelty meter, but as we are now *cough cough* responsible parents, we felt the Pilot was the right choice for us. We haven't once regretted that decision to this day, granted that it's only been 2 weeks and 400 miles since we got the car. ![]() Here are the details: 2006 Honda Pilot EX-L 4WD Navi Accessories so far: OEM chrome exhaust tips OEM side steps (arriving next week) 18" Lorinser RS6 wheels, powdercoated black w/ red lip 255/55/18 Kumho Ecsta STX tires I know pics are a must-have for forums, so here they are. I look forward to getting to know you guys better through this forum, as well as meeting some of you locals in the near future. (SoCal meet, anyone?) I also hope to contribute my experiences from my ownership experience as well as tinkering with the car, as well as learn a wealth of knowledge from veteran and new members alike. Ok, off the podium I go. Here are some pictures - enjoy!
