Default Thule Cascade 1500 & OEM Crossbars

Factory crossbars are lower profile than the aftermarket systems, so I stuck with OEM. But I think the Thule Cascade 1500 matches the profile of the Pilot's windshield slope and roof line better than the Honda short roof box. Note that the Cascade series now has the same glossy black exterior finish and quick connect/release system from the Evolution series. Installation requires 2 minutes tops.

As a reference, the Cascade 1500 dimensions are 69"x16.5"x32" compared to the Evolution 1600 dimensions of 76"x15.75"x33". Here's a closeup of the box mounted on the OEM crossbars followed by a side profile view.

Here's the second pic showing how well this box matches the roof/windshield profile.

Nice. Thanks for sharing the pics. I have this on my list now. I agree that the size appears to be a good fit for the Pilot. Any chance you can go a shot from the front or rear to get an idea of the width compared to the Pilot?

Very nice setup!
I need to check if the quick connect/release system can be retrofitted to older 1500 models.

Some pics of my set up here and here.

Hi psdx,
Thanks for posting the nice pics! The Cascade 1500 looks like a good fit for the '06 Pilot - not too large and the lines blend nicely with the rake of the windshield. I think I'm probably going to get one for a upcoming road trip up to Bandon Dunes golf resort with the guys.

How many golf bags w/clubs do you think will fit up there? - gotta save room in the back of the Pilot for the beer!
