Post 2006 Honda Pilot Codes P0420 P2101 P2176

So our 06 Pilot with 162k miles on it threw a couple interesting codes this weekend.
P0420 - yikes
and P2101 - Throttle actuator Control Motor Circuit Range/ Performance
and P 2176 Throttle Actuator Control System - Idle position not learned.

The VTM 4 as well as 3 other lights on the dash and the Pilot slipping into limp mode.

Well, by the time I got the code reader on it, it was Sunday, and the dealership was closed.

From what I've read in the forums there seem to be a few aftermarket Catalytic converters that would work, if that was the problem, but again...Sunday.
So, I had it towed to the dealership today, expecting to get a nasty bill for a catalytic converter, but the service writer was telling he was seeing codes for the transmission. Maybe my reader didn't get that kind of communication? Hmmm.

Anyway, just wanted to post and post a follow up in case someone in the future gets these codes.

If you know how these codes might relate to a transmission problem, I'd love to hear.

So, a follow up.
Indeed the catalytic converter tested out bad, replacing it along with the oxygen sensor for 1050. I see i can get a factory unit for about $400, and if i were to do the oxygen sensor, add another $60.
the other code was for the actual throttle body, which was about the only thing i had not replaced in a previous episode, makes sense. they want 785. again, found the part for about $400 and change.
a number of other items I'll take care of later, engine mount, power steering starting to leak.

The codes for the "throttle body" are for the throttle position sensor. It's drive by wire. There is a sensor under the accelerator pedal that feeds the computer pedal angles and relays it directly to that little motor that controls the butterfly on the throttle body.

The throttle sensors directly affect the transmission in that in controls shift points and fluid pressure. When the computer detects a mismatch between the two sensors it will put the car into that limp mode

Did you replace the entire throttle body or just the butterfly motor? Did the codes go away? and how is the tranny responding after the swap.

The entire throttle body was replaced, no more codes, everything is running nicely.
