Default Codes P0306 and P2279

I have an 05 with roughly 150k miles on it. I started getting codes P0306 and P2279. Changing all of the spark plugs and replacing the coil pack on cylinder #6 seems to have taken care of code P0306. I also recently cleaned the throttle body, removed and cleaned the ERG valve, and cleaned the upper intake manifold. I used carb cleaner on all of the hoses looking for a vacuum leak but didn't find anything. Any suggestions for what might be causing code P2279?

I have also been experiencing rough starts, mostly when the truck has been sitting overnight and it is cold out, and the VTM has been coming on. The VTM light usually turns off after the truck has warmed up or at the second start up of the day.

Any help or ideas would be great, Thanks!

Sounds like you have a function issue with your PCV Valve since you have stated you found no issues with any of your hoses.

Ok I will try replacing my PCV valve. What fails with the PCV valve that make the computer throw a code for a vacuum leak?

If you hear the ball moving in it then it should be ok, check for vacuum leaks at these parts:

PCV valve

PCV hose

Purge (PCS) line

Throttle body

Intake manifold

Brake booster hose

Did you check the VTM system code you are getting? If not use the paper-clip trick to find out what's going on----> VTM light on 2003 Pilot

If you need more info on the codes that are being thrown, check out my Auto Enginuity tester. Its a very useful tool for diagnosing issues!

$220?!?!?! You can get free apps for your smart phone (called Torque) to do the same thing. All you need to do is buy a blue-tooth adapter for your OBD2 port from Amazon for $25.

Of course a paperclip + internet is free.

Unhappy

Ok I have tried the PCV valve and hose, checked the throttle body, brake booster hose, and the intake manifold. I still can't seem to find this vacuum leak. What sensor would be throwing code- P2279? I am guessing it is faulty??

May be time to look deeper, the vacuum leak could be anywhere on the vacuum side of the engine. A Cracked intake manifold, head, or gaskets for them. Expand your search area.
