Default 03 Pilot no start electrical burning smell

If anyone can help I would appreciate it. the smell came from the fuse box the engine compartment here in the center of this picture.

THere is a small electrical component with a small cable on it. The connector is burnt but I can;t identify the part. Its not on the schematic or identified on the fuse box cover I will try to take a pic of it.

There was a TSB regarding the ELD several years ago covering various models, except the Pilot.
You can download it from the link in the first post here:
Electronic Load Detector Replacement (ELD) Shortcut - Honda Element Owners Club Forum
It's possible there was another TSB, which included the Pilot, but I can't identify it right now.

Show it to the dealer service advisor and see if you can get a goodwill repair.
The ELD isn't a normal service or wear item that would require periodic replacement.

If the dealer and/or Honda is uncooperative, you might gently suggest that, had your vehicle caught fire, you could well be trying to settle this matter in a courtroom rather than in the service department.

Thanks xGS I will talk to the dealer but the car has 175K so goodwill is probably out of the question.

I assume that if its burnt it will not keep the car from turning over I have anohter issue I guess

Never hurts to ask.

A failure in the ELD (or the connections) can prevent the battery from being properly charged.
It's also possible that your alternator could be bad, the alternator drive belt is slipping and/or even a bad battery cable.
How old is your battery and have you ever had the drive belts replaced - maybe at 105K miles along with the timing belt?

Yes all belts changed at schedule.. The car turns over fine, all electrics seem to work fine. Seems like no gas or spark.
