I have my Michelin LTX M/S on my '04 and love them. Very dependable tire and great in all weather conditions as well. I rotate them on a regular basis and will probably be a repeat buyer when the time is due for replacements.

Although, maybe it was brain fade, but I though the CrossTerrains were replaced with some other name tire even when I last looked for Pilot tires. EDIT: Yep, just looked, only 5 sizes still for sale.

I believe that 03 to 08 had 235 70R16, and in 09 they changed to the 245 65R17. On my 04, the main reason I changed to the 245 70R16 was just personal preference. The tire is only somewhere around a 1/2 in diameter larger and when the speedometer reads 60 your really going 61 or 61.5 But I think the ride is better and the tire fills up the wheel well a little more and looks better. IMO

The CrossTerrain has pretty much been replaced with various tires under the Latitude brand name. If you're looking for tires for a Mercedes GL, bring lots of cash and be prepared for a limited selection from which to choose. |

If it's for an 07/08 GL with 265/60R18, there still aren't many choices in an all-season tire, with, at minimum, the OEM "H" speed rating and a decent treadwear rating.
Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza, Goodyear Assurance CS Fuel Max, Nitto Dura Grappler - and what else? You could sacrifice a bit of treadlife and go with the Nokian WRG2 SUV and get better winter traction without having to swap tires. |

I am leaning towards Michelins and they have a few others that the Tire Rack system does not pick up but will work fine.

Of those 22, 3 are winter tires, 2 are all-terrain tires, 1 is a summer-only tire, 5 have treadwear ratings of 300 or less and the Michelin is duplicated - so you're really down to about 10 and some of those are fairly old designs.
