I just go with OEM Honda oil whenever my oil meter reaches 15% life.

what's the mileages around 15%? is the Pilot running 5w20?

I have a off topic question since you're a 06-08 Pilot owner, does the 06-08 Pilot have trip meter which shows how much mpg you get base on your driving? thanks...

Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w-20, and Mobil 1 Extended Performance filter. I change it once a year or 15k miles. Actually ends up being cheaper then conventional oil. Most of the time I can get it on sale for around $40 with the filter. I think it is by far the most cost effective way to go.

15% depends on your usage of the Pilot.

damn that's sweet 1 oil change a year? that would be nice, I drive about 13.5k a year with my Scion tc I have to change the oil every 3.5k/2-3months pain in the butt, when the meter say to change at 5k but my oil hella dark when flush at 3.5k with Mobile 1 Synthetic, so I didn't trust it to hit 5k. Once a year better go off with Mobil 1 Synthetic 5qt @ walmart $27 and stack a bunch of OEM filter from honda probably $32 total... so sweet...

so at the same time every 15k you guys replace the rear diff oil too? and trans every 30k to be safe?

I'm not sure. I just changed the oil a few weeks ago and did a 2800 mile trip from FL to CA and oil meter is at 70%. There is no fuel economy meter. The Pilot does run 5w20.

Since I live in an apartment complex, I can't work on my Pilot as I would be able to in Hawaii. I just take it to the Honda dealer and have the oil/filter change plus safety inspection for $30.

I use Mobil 1 5w30 Extended Performance (5 quart container from Walmart) along with a K&N oil filter. I follow the maintenance minder for changes, so I change about every 7k.

The color of the oil is NOT a good indicator of it's condition. Oil turns dark in no time. If your really worried about it, get yourself a free oil-analysis kit from Blackstone-labs. Next time you change your oil, fill the cup and send it off. For $25 or so they will tell you the exact condition of your oil and how much longer you could go on it.

Mobil 1 5w20 with a Wix filter.
I run the MM right down to zero.

Usually takes 6,500 to 8,500 miles to reach 0% on the MM.

I use Mobil 5w20 oil and Fram filter. Tonight will be my 2nd time changing the oil on the 06 pilot (bought Oct '11).

I ususally change it when the oil level percentage hits ~30%.

Question for you guys, is 30% a good indicator or can I hold off til it hits 15%?

With a synthetic, I seriously doubt you would ever have a problem running it down to 0.
