Hey folks,
new to the board, new to the pilot universe, picking up a used 04 EX-L saturday, but need to find out the width and height of the cubby hole in the dash located in between the heated seat switches before than for an audio purchase that i wanted to install in that spot. Pretty sure i'm fine width wise, but the height is what's worrying me. anyone with an 04 and a tape measurer want to be my hero!? |

The opening itself is taller than 1", but both the floor and ceiling slope inward at a 45* angle for the first quarter inch. The dimensions I gave you are the interior dimensions of the hole.
I've been working on my 94 hatch since 99. I love that car. It's like one of my children. I'm still pretty active on Honda-tech whenever the hot-rod bug hits me.

The stack on Pilots with Res goes much lower. So you might be able to grow the hole to fit your needs.

My co-worked had a speed6. Nice car, but the clutch & flywheel were a mess. Cost and arm & leg to replace. Still very fast & fun.
I don't know why, but I'm a total sucker for Hondas. My wife and I own 4 of them. They certainly keep me busy.. ![]() - 89 CRX Si - 94 Civic CX - 04 Pilot EX-L - 05 TL Sport (6-speed) |

i almost bought a speed6 because i loved the all wheel drive, but mazda refused to make the rear seats fold down on it to keep the body stiff (same way the refused to build a speed3 with a sunroof) and i couldn't live with that. i never had any real problems with my 3, only thing i really cursed was one of the HID headlight bulbs went bad, and you have to removed the whole front bumper to replace it! I thought i was missing something so i checked the factory service manuel and sure enough, thats how they do it at the dealer.
