Question 2006 Pilot power plug very hot

Why is the power outlet in my 2006 Pilot's center console heating up? In the armrest "glove box" the power plug is very hot after a few minutes of drive time- why is this? Assume the plug is not working properly? I plan on taking the console apart and unplugging the outlet- but just curious why this outlet is so hot?- enough to feel on the outside of the center "glove box"

The heater lines going to the rear heater core are underneath.

It has nothing to do with the plug, and it is completely normal.

Under that seemingly innocent console is a ton of bits. Just take a look at the diagram below

Just like N_Jay said, the rear heat core is down in that area so hot coolant is being pumped underneath the center console all the time. It is hotter than normal there for sure, but is totally normal. Unplugging your power outlet won't change anything.

I'm wondering how to remove center console top AC/Heat vent so i can clean it, seems like there's alot of sticky liquid spill in the vent preventing it to adjust the air flow, otherwise I gotta spend quite sometime to clean it with q-tips but still can't clean it gap where liquid is sticky causing it hard to adjust the vent. thanks..
