Default Just joined the ranks of the Piloteers!!

Hello all, yesterday I bought a 2007 Pilot EX, burgundy, 65k miles, 6-cd changer, no Navi, a few dings & scratches, very clean & nice on the inside... I'm VERY happy with it

First, I'd like to thank everyone here who have unknowingly already helped me make some choices for what to do to the girl: I ordered an aux input wiring kit from logjamelectronics.com, I'm about to order a tow hitch receiver & aftermarket ATS/PS cooler kits from etrailer.com, and I may get the 3M invisible paint shielding for the front (haven't decided on that yet).

Second, any other little things I should look out for? Recommended add-ons that make Piloting that much more enjoyable? I've never driven a Pilot before and the only handling thing that I don't like is that it feels a little rolly or slightly unstable if I make a quick steering input at moderate to higher speed... is that normal, or is there a suspension mod that would make it feel more stable?

Thanks!!

You don't say what tires you have, but installing the rear subframe brace will really help tighten up the cornering

I need to check what the tires are. I'm reading some of the threads about the rear subframe brace mod and it sounds like a cheap and easy improvement. I haven't read yet if it's as simple as a bolt-on job for the '07 and I haven't looked specifically in that area on mine to see if the holes already exist. I'm not sure of the condition of the shocks either...

Edit:
ok, having read a little more about the braces and it sounds like a worthwhile investment/experiment, especially since I WILL be hauling several hundred lbs of stuff in the back or towing a small Uhaul trailer. However, with all the threads I'm coming across that talk about them, the ones with links seem to go to dead pages. I'm gonna go Googling for the parts but if anyone has a good functional link to the parts or "kit" if there is such a thing, please let me know.

Thanks!

Have you come accross this thread?
Vibration/shimmy experiment -- MDX rear subframe brace retrofit

Not sure though if the threaded hole is still in the '07.

Yep, that was probably the first one I read on the RSB mod. I googled for a while and finally came across some OEM parts places that sell the MDX components listed on that thread, but they're a lot more expensive than I was expecting, like maybe twice as much or more total for all the parts as compared to the prices mentioned in the original project thread. I was taking it from some of the posts that there was a "kit" for this particular project but I couldn't find anything of the sort.

I just installed a Grom aux input adapter from AutoToys.com and it works great! I snaked the audio cable down behind the environment controls and through an opening in the back of the "not an ashtray" tray so that it lives in the shelf just below. It took all of about 30 minutes for the install and only required a philips screwdriver =)

Added the MDX rear subframe braces last week and I can tell a definite improvement in rear-end stability. She still feels a little top-heavy, but the loose wobble from the back is much more subdued. Woo-hoo!
