Default how long do you plan on keeping your pilot?

I have 144k miles in our 04 pilot. Plan on keeping it a long time and using it for trips and 3rd car duty. Might even start towing a boat with it. How long and how many miles are you planning on keeping your pilot?

So far no major problems, I want to keep it until it has 200k-300K. Only concern is how long the transmission will last.

Looking for 200K, (at 176K) , but is mostly a secondary vehicle, so about 2 1/2 to 3 more years.

2003 purchased summer 2002.

Keeping my fingers crossed about the trans as I am starting to feel what I assume is a problem with the TC lock-up clutch.

If I was smart I would sell it now but this is not the time for us to buy a new tow vehicle for the trailer.

I'll keep it until my needs change and it is no longer suitable for my needs. If that is 200K, that's fine; for a basically reliable car used in an environment where corrosion is not a huge issue, it is almost always cheaper to fix than to buy new. The only big problem I have with my Pilot is fuel mileage - I don't want to be driving something that gets 15 mpg in five or ten years. I doubt anyone will.

The car I would replace the Pilot with in the next few years is a small AWD SUV with a diesel engine and manual transmission. Perhaps Mazda with the CX-5 or VW with a new Tiguan model, although I'm not holding my breath.

Never had a car beyond 155k before but think the Pilot is going to be the one that not only beats that but gets to 200k.
Have two and a half years before it goes to College.

I'll keep our '06 until Honda rolls out a better looking Pilot than the current model.

Hello Everyone,

I have a 2005 with 69000 miles. I bought the vehicle new and have maintained it well since then. I try to do as much of the maintenance as I can and have the dealer and a local shop do stuff I am a bit hesitant to try.

I am 62 and only drive the vehicle about 10000 miles a year here in Northern Nevada. Reno is a pretty easy town to get around in.

I suspect the car will outlast me and I have told my son to bury me in it in the desert somewhere. Best car I have ever owned and really good on dirt roads and the back country. Haven`t tried going up the side of a mountain yet.

Maybe a few, but the GL is getting a fairly god reputation, and there are no other mid-size SUVs with a diesel.

I am hoping to drive it till the wheels fall off. My first long distance car was of all things a geo tracker. It was rear ended at 258,000 or I would still be driving it today. Me & the wife are both nurses and work at the same hospital with the same schedule ( different departments ) so we alternate cars driving back & forth to work. I have a 2005 & I am thinking I can get another 5 years out of the mighty Pilot. The idea of taking my stereo out of the pilot does not sound like a good time.
