Hi Guys,
I bought some ebay oem style crossbars to attach ski carriers when hitting up the mountains. the bars are like these: eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices They are fitting pretty nicely, except I cannot make them stationary - I can easily move them back and forth. Well, not all the way back and forth since towards the rear the width decreases so at some point they become tight, but this cannot be right. i would think when the top bolts are tightened the bars should not move anymore... I have sent question to the seller, but i was wondering what tightens the OEM bars? I may make a trip to the dealer to find out more info, but if anyone can give me a clue i would appreciate it. |

Sorry but I cannot open that file. Here is the Honda manual:
http://www.bernardiparts.com/Images/...y_AII30491.pdf When you tighten the bolts in step 6, the cross bars are supposed to clamp down onto the existing side rails. If yours do not do that, you may need to figure out a way to shim them so they do clamp down. If that's not for you, think about sending them back. Sorry for your trouble. Seemed simple enough for someone to easily replicate.
