Default Driver seat broken

My '03 driver's seat was starting to rock, then it finally broke. There is an angle bracket which is bolted to the floor, and rivetted to the seat track(one on each corner, 4 total so I still have three holding for now). Has anyone had this type of failure? Seems like a lot of torque on the bracket. I have tried to find the part with no luck.

This is a first as far as I can recall. For safety sake please have the seat removed from the car, welded or riveted back together. Might be something a body shop will do.

Just had my '03 driver's seat do exactly the same thing. Found this thread and decided to join up to see if anyone else had experienced the same issue. I contacted Honda Canada and they were zero help. I wasn't after compensation, I just wanted them to be aware of a potential safety issue. They were not interested in the least! Any advise on a repair would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Yes.....I had it happen to my 2004 Pilot.....

I want you to read this part carefully.....I am a fat guy.....so I am used to having to repair or alter seats that others usually don't have a problem with.....

I took my driver's seat out and had a friend at a body shop weld it.....he could only get to one side of the bracket because of the seat material being too close to the heat source.....

So he welded the part that he could get to.....it took him about 15 minutes.....

However.....after a couple of weeks.....it broke again.....

I told him about it and I took it out again.....this time I removed the material from the bottom of the seat.....and he welded it on all sides.....(about 20 minutes).....

It actually feels better now than it did when it was new.....

I drive hard and I tow a lot.....I am also frequently on rough and bumpy roads.....so my seat takes a beating.....and carries a lot more weight than the average driver's seat.....

It has been over a year.....and there are no problems with the seat.....

He is my friend.....so he did it as a favor.....but if you remove the seat and the lower material.....you should be able to get a body shop or a welding shop to do the repair for about $20.oo to $30.00 bucks.....
