What can I check to see what may be causing this message "Check Fuel Cap"? I have removed the fuel cap and reinstalled it. It appears to be on correctly?

not aware of a warning light specific to the fuel cap but my engine light came on 2 months back and the codes pointed to the evaporative fuel system. It turned out to be my gas cap was loose I've noticed after a few refills. Replaced and all is fine now- make sure not to overtighten/turn the cap- 3 clicks is sufficient and will make it last a long time.
