Default What are the OEM Struts and Shocks ?

Hi Guys, just looking to see what brand my 2006 pilot came with.

Looking to replace with something better riding.

As for replacement, I would say KYB or Monroe. I just put KYB's on the back of my wife's Pilot and they made a nice improvement. I had a shop put some Monroe Sensatrac struts on the front a couple of years ago because of perceived quality, I guess. I haven't had any issues with them but if I had to do it all over I would have:

1) done them all at the same time
2) gone with KYB for all 4 corners

Just my 2 cents, take it for what it's worth

Most likely the manufacturer for the OEM shocks and struts would be KYB. IIRC they also make them for Toyota/Lexus.

what kind of improment did you see with KYB.

What makes you say you wish you had KYB upfront too ?

thanks !

From what I have read, it seems people have talked about KYB being firmer (which is what I wanted for my wife's Pilot- I felt like it had too much body roll and washout, which I felt was a safety issue).

Also, I read that several people who got the monroe shocks said they had defective bushings and ended up swapping them out for KYB. I might have read that on here, I dont remember. I would suggest a thorough google search.
