Hi I just found a small crack in my passenger side rear cv boot AWD 2008 EX-L Pilot. Anyone have any suggestions re: split boot replacements, complete axle replacement etc. I also am looking for instructions on removal and installation of the rear axle. I don't have a repair manual yet as I have been looking for a free one online just as I did for my CRV. Haven't found one yet. If anyone has had a dealer do it for them could you let me know what you paid?
Thanks

Did you just purchase? From a dealer or private? If from a dealer you may be able to get them to help you out. I haven't read about any split boots on this site yet, not a common occurence, and kind of odd considering your vehicle is an '08.
I have a repair manual for an '03, but the rear diff didn't change in the first gen. I'm just down the road from you in Warman, so if you'd like, PM me and you can borrow it.

Thanks Dutin08. I just pm ed you. The Pilot was purchased at a dealer and they did fix some other things for me included in the deal. Unfortunately I missed this one item.

If you are in an area where they haven't started putting chemicals down on the roads for winter then you can just replace the boot.
If you're in an area that has.... Replace the whole axle. You can get a reman. one cheap enough. |
