Default Another timing belt question

I know there are several topics on this but have question. I have 2006 pilot that now has 105,500 miles. So i know that service is for timing belt at 105k, but is there any harm if wait another month or two because of $$? No long trips planned etc at most about 1000k more put on before get it scheduled. I also realize that no one can give a 100% answer, but there is alot of great knowledge on this site! Thks in advance

It should be fine. I think Honda realizes that people won't be pulling into the dealer right at 105k.

LOL, anyway we're not going to tell you whether it's safe or not because it is your pilot.

Most likely you'll be fine but don't blame us if something happens. But if you're curious most of the people reporting about timing belt change has said the belts look brand new even at 7 yrs or 105k miles.

I went to 112,500 but only cos I had to replace the tires at 105k as well. Only so many dollars at any one time,

105K is just an arbitrary judgment by Honda on when the risk of failure climbs enough to justify the expense of the service. It's an approximation, so there is no need to be precise in scheduling your service - you can consider it a +/- 10% sort of recommendation.

I did mine at 110,000, and it looked almost as good as the new replacement belt. I could have easily gone to 130,000 miles based on the wear the belt exhibited thus far. Still, it's not my Pilot you're currently driving and only you can make that call.

Time is the enemy, not mileage. I had a 2001 Civic where I replaced the belt twice in 3.5 years and it looked BRAND NEW after that amount of time, yet 100k.
