Default Looking for a Pilot. What should I be looking for?

Hello everyone,

I'm starting to look for my first Pilot! Will need to be in the $10K range. What things should I be looking for and what things should I avoid? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

A $10,000 Pilot with a comprehensive sevice record along with a Carfax report along with a few hundred extra bucks to have it looked over well by a competent mechanic. I would also take a look at cars.com to get a better idea of what is out there and where, mileage and road conditions driven/ lack of salt like up your way during the winter. Good luck!

The $10,000 dollar range puts you in a 2003 maybe a 2004 depending on mileage and trim level. I purchased my 2003 EXL with 121K miles about 9 months ago for $9,980, that's not including tax and other fees; it was originally listed for $11,500. I would also pay close attention to how the transmission sounds/feels, and ask for maintenance records. Make sure the timing belt has been done! If it hasn't, that's another $500-$1000 worth of maintenance the car will need. Just pay close attention to what you are buying, I find it good to have someone with you who isn't on the "new car hype" so they can find the flaws you might overlook.

Totaled on 2/9/11 @ 100,700 miles - Spun out on the snow/ice covered highway and collided with the cable barriers.
