Ok so I just put money down on a white 2005 Pilot EX with 46k miles. It has slight damage from an accident on the rear corner but if you look at it you cant notice it unless you are really looking for it. The front left headlight has water damage from a broken seal. The car is super clean on the inside and runs great. Not sure what else I should list about its condition etc.
Anyway it started at $15,900.00 and I got him to $12,900.00. My total out the door cost is $14,307.38 after taxes and fees. Most of the Pilots I have looked at have been much much more expensive. I went at closing time and got this deal after close. Good deal? Bad deal? or fair price? Thanks for the input! |

According to the NADA, the site insurance companies use to determine car values, a 2005 Pilot with 46K miles is worth $15,950 (clean retail). So, I would say you got a good deal.

A 2005 is about due for a timing belt replacement (every 7 years or 105K miles).
If that hasn't been done, have the price reduced by another $1K to cover it. Since the car shows some evidence of accident damage, have the alignment checked to make sure everything is still straight. Also, how old is the battery? What kind of tires are on the car and how old are they? |

A mix of tires likely points to an alignment issue post accident.

Glad to hear I didn't get screwed. All tires match and have a lot of meat. My father was a mechanic and he checked it out and said everything looked fine. I'll find out about the timing belt today though. All the work has been done at Honda and only had 1 driver. I'll go double check the carfax when I'm home from work to see if its listed there.
