Smile Changing Battery in 2004 Pilot

Are there any issues I have to deal with after disconnecting the old battery (for about 10 minutes) and installing a new one? The Owner's Manual mentions that the power window system needs to be reset, but nothing is said about the audio system password. Is it really that simple???

From one very satisfied Honda owner...

Roger

You'll need the passcode for the radio if the battery is disconnected along with the window reset.

I changed my battery not long ago and only had to have the radio password.

So you mean to say you didn't have to reprogram the driver's side window for the auto up/down feature?

If your auto-up/down function doesn't work after the swap, there is something special you have to do. Something like hold the button at max to go down for like 5 seconds. Then hold it at max to go up for 5 seconds. This will reactivate the auto-up/down function.

You will have to enter the anti-theft code, reset the time and reprogram the radio station presets.

After replacing my battery, the drivers side window did not require reprogramming.

I don't think it's unusual, I never had to reprogram the CRVs when I would disconnect the battery; even if it was for long periods of time.

Totaled on 2/9/11 @ 100,700 miles - Spun out on the snow/ice covered highway and collided with the cable barriers.

I had my battery disconnected for some welding and another time I had it out for replacement.

All I had to reset was the radio stations.

That's it.

To avoid all this, why don't you get one of those battery savers, a 9v battery that plugs into the cigarette lighter and keeps the accessories powered for the short time it takes to change a battery.

I changed my battery and only had to enter the radio password, and reset the stations. The window was fine.

Those won't easily work since the plug goes dead when the key is off. Do NOT try to cheat and use one with the key on. Bad things can happen if you lose power with the key on.
