Just bought a sweet '07 Black Pilot EX-L (no NAV), 43K miles a few days ago.
First impressions: I like the ride. More van-like than truck-like. Lots of compartments. Things I don't like so far: no DRL and that hesitation between gears (throttle). Other than that, I am impressed. This is my first Honda (first import since a '77 VW Bug back in the day) I wasn't even looking at the Pilot; thought it was out of my price range right now. But the dealer had $21K on this and I got it for $17. It was a one-owner (lease), and the only thing which pretty doesn't look brand new is the drivers side mat. I never do this, but bought a 3 year/36K extended bumper-to-bumper warranty for $700. What should I be looking for as it reaches 50K and beyond? |

If you get your hands dirty, I would change out all the fluids and service the brake sliders. These things are a little fussy on the trannys and the rear end, stay on top of the regular fluid changes after you have set the mark.
I put a transmission cooler and external filter on mine. ($100 , not hard). Dump your tranny fluid and replace and then pump the new stuff through the system by idling 2 litres at a time. Works well. I do the brake sliders spring and fall. Enjoy.

And since we're talking lights why is it that my Pilot won't turn it's headlights off automatically when left on but the Accord does? |

HOWEVER, I know I am right on this one... it DOES HAVE Auto off headlights (on EX and above trims). It's not an auto ON and OFF, it's just an Auto Off. I have left my lights in ON many times and they shut off automatically shortly after I get out and lock the doors. I suppose you could leave the light switch in ON all the time and consider that your DRLs as well. Last edited by megatron; 10-09-2011 at 01:20 PM. |

the 2007 does not have DRL, but when you turn on the parking lights, the projectors turn on, which I assume are what the Canadian version uses as DRL (guess US version has no real use for them). So you could probably leave your parking lights on the whole time. They will auto-off after a few minutes after you turn the car off as Megatron said.

You got a great deal. In Canada I paid 20K for my EX, with 96 Km but it was Honda certified and very clean. could pass up on the Black and cloth interior. Leather is sooo cold in the winter and hot in the summer!
All the best of luck |
