Good grief I wouldn't like to think what repercussions there are going to be for the appraiser and body shop. What a cluster****. Not only does the shop have to be paid for the repairs, but the now have to pay you. Any pics?

yea the insurance company has to pay the body shop his $10k, and they paid my loan off and cut me a check last friday. all in all they have paid out about $27k for the vehicle. pics are on the link below. the pics dont really show alot of the damage, there was alot of damage behind the bumper to the airbox, bumper reinforcement, etc. the back hatch door was misaligned, i was told the body had to be pulled back into spec. honestly i think the body shop guy pulled a fast one. i think he knew there was going to be alot of money into the car to fix it, most likely totaled and that he wouldnt get much money if he just estimated the car so i think he fixed what he could so he would get paid for it. just my 2 cents.

what makes the side curtain airbag deploy?

Oh wow! That's crazy! Someone at the insurance company really messed up. When I wrecked my CRV I had a check for the old car and a new car within 5 days.

yea it has definitely been an experience. they waited 5 days from the day i made the claim to send out an adjuster, and to top that off, the adjuster they sent out was a storm damage adjuster from out of town, she even admitted she didnt do auto claims. took her over a week to get the initial estimate prepared, then she went out of town and gave the info to her assistant supposedly to fax to the body shop. well the assistant never faxed the info over so i had to wait 5 more days for her to get back into town just to get that done, before the body shop would even order parts. then the body shop guy called them to come back out for a 2nd round of repairs that he found once he took the bumper off and had the car on a lift. took them 5 more days to get an adjuster back out. on and on, i kept calling up the ladder until i finally got ahold of someone who actually gave a crap about it. all while the rental car bill keeps getting bigger and bigger. i went into enterprise last night and as of yesterday the bill was over $1,500, just for the car. the body shop guy knew all along the back was bent, but went ahead and fixed everything else, literally. new side curtain airbag, new passengers seat, headliner, new pillar trim pieces, all the work in the front, new wheel and tire. the trim pieces for the headliner never got ordered, so he had to call farmers out again, there was another 4 days to get another adjuster out, get the parts ordered and installed. THEN he addresses the back hatch, tacks a $3200 bill on there to fix that, calls farmers out again(that was another 4 days to get them out) and that was when they totalled it.
