Default Anybody w/ 07 ex-l ever removed the radio?

I am trying to find out if there is an aux input already behind the head unit so I'll know what supplies I need to set up my iPod before I go pulling off trim pieces.

The AUX functionality of the stock head unit only functions if you have the Honda MusicLink cable and hardware installed.

If you're incredibly lucky (and have this already), the iPod cable will be located in your glovebox.

There is NO AUX input on the radio (like a USB port or 1/4" jack).

You can get third party aux input adapters though.

Hey guys, I have done this on my 2003 and on my Dad's 2011 - I have a feeling the 2007 is similar enough to the 2003.

That said, if you guys purchase a USASpec iPod adapter from Crutchfield they will include AWESOME diagrams/instructions on how to remove your radio (along with speakers, etc)

Pricing there is on par everywhere else and the USASpec device works great on both Pilots!

*edit*

The USASpec device has an iPod specific cable as well as RCA connections for an additional AUX input as well

I just purchased the GTA Car Kit and installed it this morining on my 2003 EX-L. Cost was $99 (free shipping), ordered on Sunday arrived Friday...took 20 min total time for me to install and test. Works perfectly. Below is a link to their installation video for 2006 Pilot and a link their website.

this is the one I used for my 2007 Pilot EX-L:

CPHONAUX3.5 2003-2011 Acura/Honda Auxiliary Input Converter

As one of the other posters said, it takes about 20 minutes or so to install assuming you do something simple with the cable like drop it into the glove box. Pry off the trim around the Stereo head unit from the left (driver's) side. Once that is off the installation is a breeze.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but my wife wants an option like this in her 2007 Pilot and this seems like a decent option. Am I correct to assume that the steering controls work with this option?

I have a Pioneer stereo with Ipod conector that reads the songs on the display that I pulled out of her Accord when we baught the Pilot and I was going to intall this stereo but in order to keep the steering wheel funtions I have to buy a $150 device to make this happen. So around $250 to have this and the stereo installed into her Pilot if I go this route.

@YingPin, Yes the steering wheel controls work with these interfaces. However, they are intended to be used with the factory Honda OEM radios. They are not compatible with aftermarket units like the Pioneer you described.

I have the USASpec PA15-HON2 in my 2006 Odyssey which has both the Apple connector (original, not the new Lightning one) as well as a 3.5mm connector for non-apple devices and it works great. In my 2006 Pilot I have the USASpec BT-35HON which is a bluetooth interface, so no connectors at all. The BT35 also gives the added benefit of handsfree calling via Bluetooth.

good luck,
