Default 2003-2004 OEM Foglights

So a month ago or so, a user posted up asking about the 2005 Pilot's foglights and their compatibility with the 2003/2004 Pilot. The short answer is they are not compatible and there are only a few parts that correlate between the two sets.

I bought one of the $30 BNIB OEM Honda kits for the 2005 Honda Pilot on eBay (awesome seller, btw)

I also compared part numbers for every part versus the 2003/04 Pilot and purchased the missing/different items. I am pleased to inform Piloteers that for $100 you can purchase all the required wiring, relays, screws, brackets, etc to do the install! I just finished mine this weekend.

Here is a listing you will need in ADDITION to the 2005 foglight kit:

Product Number Description Quantity
94103-05800 WASHER, PLAIN (5MM) 2
32602-SA5-003 NUT, BATTERY TERMINAL (SUMITOMO) 1
93405-06016-07 BOLT-WASHER (6X16) 3
94050-06070 NUT, FLANGE (6MM) 3
93913-25520 SCREW, TAPPING (5X20) (PO) 4
08P09-S04-00004 NUT, SPRING (5MM) 4
93901-45320 SCREW, TAPPING (5X16) 4
08V31-S84-10014 LINK, FUSIBLE 1
08V31-SX0-A0019 HOLDER, CONNECTOR 2
08V31-S9V-10030 WIRE HARNESS, FOG SWITCH 1
08V31-S9V-10031 WIRE HARNESS, FOG SWITCH 1
08V31-S9V-11035 SWITCH 1

Hopefully this can help others!

Items in red are ones I am 99% sure that I did not use from the order

Also note, that not all of those screws and what not are required, I'll try to go through and pick out the items that I did not use and was able to reuse from the '05 kit. Here is a better formatted image of what was purchased.

While I doubt anyone is interested, I figured I would add to the above information.

If you purchased the set (w/out lower trim cover) and you would like to add the lower trim cover, there are additional parts required, they are as follows:

08V31-S9V-10050 GARNISH, R. FR. FOG 1
08V31-S9V-10051 GARNISH, L. FR. FOG 2
93901-45320 SCREW, TAPPING (5X16) 4
08P09-S04-00004 17 NUT, SPRING (5MM) 4

Thats great info for the 03-04 guys.

I have an 05 EXL and also purchased the ebay 40-50$ OEM 05 fog light kit. WHAT A DEAL/STEAL! Long job to install it though, easily 5 hours of work..!

You're not kidding - for $30 to have the full OEM foglights? Deal of the century.

I just spent $100 on those parts I listed above and was good to go. The only piece missing is a bracket for the relay that goes under the headlight - however that can be ignored. I don't think it has a part number separately.

Hi Muffinman,

Its very nice of you to share with us your experiences with all our members here. But i got a few questions for you regarding the 04 oem foglight kit. I bought an 05 oem kit by mistake, but is it possible to install the 05 kit and make it work with the parts you listed above and make it work for the 04 pilot.

Absolutely, the '03 and '04 have identical foglight configurations. The '05 where they added VSA and the sunroof is the only different one.

You should be good to go to purchase and install the above mentioned parts.

If you want, you can verify by looking at

Honda Automotive Parts

You'll see the kit mentioned covers 2003 and 2004

I just installed mine. I bought OEM Honda fogs and they look GREAT!! The only complaint I have is when I turn my highbeams on, the fogs turn off. Is there a way to correct this? Sorry if I'm derailing from the original question. Just trying to get to the bottom of this.
Thanks,
TM

Nope, that is in fact the correct usage of them for whatever reason. I don't like it either personally but that's just how it is.

It really is not very difficult - though I have done some similar installs in the past. The instructions are available on handa-accessories webpage. If you take your time and read through them you should be fine.

The only thing to keep in mind is those plastic clips are going to be slightly brittle and may break so you probably want to have a few on hand.

You also will want to take your time in cutting up the bumper cover for the fogs/brackets to go in. When they give you measurements (like use a 13mm drill bit) follow those instructions

I was able to finish 90% of it in a few hours late at night. Touched it up and finished it off the following morning in like 10 minutes (screwing on the covers)

The only thing not really mentioned is the aiming of the foglights. What I do is cover the headlights with blankets and then drive up away from a wall then align them to a decent height - keep in mind they should be low.

Just wondering if anyone knows if the canadian version pilot foglight kits are any different. Cause in canada we have daytime running light modules.
