greetz!!
Honda certified 2005 Honda Pilot EX-L should have done this years ago, but hey.. time flies.. 1. for some reason I was under the impression this was 4 wheel drive 4x4.. but I recently noticed some Pilots have a blazing 4x4 moniker on them, they do look newer, but uh, is mine 4x4 or not? I mean at the very least its AWD right? whats the difference? 2. It has DVD player in the middle seat area with what looks like a speaker port on the back, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to "play" it thru, plays fine with the wireless provided headphones? what gives? or is it not a speaker? 3. How can I tel lif i'm leaking oil? Last oil change I may have overtopped it by accident, 4.75 liters v/s the manual stated 4.5.. didn't worry about it since I had a 3000 mile road trip coming up, figured a lil extra would't hurt.. got back a month ago from the trip and all went well, about 2 weeks ago I started noticing little drips of oil here and there, small petite, but one day I got down and sho'nuff it was leaking, SLOW< SLOW drippage, opposite side of the oil pan and filter, driver side area.. I could't tell where it was coming from tho.. and I kept checking the oil levels.... 2 weeks since discovery I haven't noticed any new drips and oil levels are fine... but in the back of my mind now.. i have this gnawing worry... What do you all think? 4. As stated this is Honda Certified vehicle but since it was Honda I didn't pay attention to any of the salesmen spiel regarding its honda certification process.. till #3 above.. so NOW after the sale, what do I get out of it being a Honda Certified Vehicle? 5. I noticed my headlight are getting a faded/dirty/hazy look to them.. what is it and how can I clean them? obviously wiping them down is NOT working!! 6. I hit 120k miles, is it too late to go synthentic on it? 7. Now that I've passed 100K miles what tips or advice do you have to keep it going another 100k miles? phew!!! Sorry, but I think thats it for now! do tell party peoples!! ThANKS IN ADVANCE!!! Sean PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

1. It has the vtm-4 awd system(2003 - 2005) was not available in 2wd. You should have a vtm-4 lock button next to the radio, while the awd system is automatic you can use this button for extra traction in 1st, 2nd and reverse
2. Not sure, do you have the owners manual handy? 3. Put a piece of clean cardboard under the engine, should be able to tell if you have a leak. Your leak could possibly be left over oil from the oil change(not cleaning up the used oil). 4. Each Honda certified pre-owned candidate receives:
6. It is never too late, I recomend Mobil 1 5w20 extended performance and a Mobil 1 filter 7. You need to have your timing belt, water pump, drive belt service performed, if you have not already, change the plugs. see owners manual. |
