Default Not sure what it is

Hi everyone. First post. If everything goes as planned this week I will be without a Volvo and the new owner of an 07 Pilot. 2007 Honda Pilot EX Auto 4WD Formal Black SUV 4X4. A Honda Pilot at Roberts Honda Downingtown PA. The dealer is referring to it as an EX but it doesn't have a moonroof. Is that even possible?

We just had a similar question. The 8th digit of the VIN tells you the model

1=LX,4= EX, 5=exl, 6= EXl with res, 7=EXL with navi

embarrassing question: which Pilot do I own? LX, EX, EXL?

The Vin for this vehicle is 5FNYF18437B027042

So its an EX. EXL and above came with the sunroof.

Yes, EX = no moonroof. EX-L (leather) = moonroof

Sweet. Thanks for the explanation. I'm picking it up after work today. CAN NOT WAIT to get rid of this Volvo. The pilot won't be my daily driver though, it's for my wife. But I get to inherit her Civic coupe which has me just as excited.

I've been looking for awhile. We've decided on getting a 2008 Pilot SE. Searching through the main Honda page it showed an SE as being available at my local dealer - but my local dealer shows the same unit as being an EX..... 8th Digit is a 3. so I'm guessing it actually is an SE. 5FNYF183 - Just want someone to verify

Is there a thread that shows all the differences between each model?

2008 eliminated the LX version and added the VP and SE versions. Here's a brief summary of 2008 model differences:

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options:

The 2008 Honda Pilot is a midsize crossover SUV. Four trims are offered: Value Package, EX, EX-L and Special Edition. The Value package replaces the former LX trim and includes 16-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, air-conditioning (with a separate unit to cool the rear seats), cruise control, full power accessories, keyless entry, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls and a seven-speaker stereo with satellite radio and an in-dash CD changer.

Stepping up to the EX adds an eight-way power driver seat, extra interior storage, automatic climate control and HomeLink. Satellite radio is not available on the EX. One may also choose an EX with leather seating (EX-L), which also comes with a sunroof, satellite radio and heated front seats. A navigation system with rearview camera or a DVD entertainment system are available on the EX-L -- but you can't get both.

The Special Edition slots between the EX and EX-L in terms of pricing and equipment. It has a cloth interior, but compared to the standard EX, adds a sunroof, satellite radio, a rear DVD entertainment system and a 115-volt power outlet.

This is correct. I have 08 SE. It comes with sunroof, satellite radio, RSE, and a 115-volt power outlet.

akleib, do you have VIN? When I put my VIN in, it said SE.

Also it's good to note that 03-04, EX and EXL did not automatically mean moonroof. In 05 it came standard in the EXL as well as heated seats, which were options in 03-04s even in the EXL model.

EDIT:To clarify, it was not a moonroof, but a sunroof was available, but was a dealer installed option at select dealerships.

There were NO factory fitted sunroof on the 2003 or 2004 models. ANY spec.

You are correct it is not a factory installed option.

Best way to disable it is to unplug battery cables. Reason in doing this is to kill the power that might trigger the airbag if you choose to meddle with the steering wheel.
