My Pilot replaced a Toyota Land Cruiser that had it's lease expire today. My wife got it detailed and is returning it as we speak.
I have to say...We had NO problems at all with the Land Cruiser and loved every minute of having it.
We looked at the residual on it when the lease was (is) up and decided to get a new vehicle with a new warranty for the same amount.
The Land Cruiser was $55,000 when we got it...residual was around $33,000. We spent the $33,000 on a Pilot and got a new warranty and a cool Navigation system. Both seat 8 people (actually the Pilot rear seats are more comfortable) and lowered our payments and Insurance.
We took the Pilot on a trip to Myrtle Beach the first day we had it (we are in Orlando, FL) and loved driving it. The NAV system actually saved us from several hours of stopped traffic on I-95 by showing us US-19 up the coast that we would have never taken looking at a regular map. Turned out it was fast hiway driving and no traffic. 10 miles north of where we got off there was a 3 hour delay due an accident on I-95.
We have the rear camera on it and it seems to be the OH COOL feature everyone loves. I love being able to back up and I can see exactly how far I am from the bumber of the car behind me. When I have some time, I plan to add a switch so I can flip on the rear view anytime, not just when in reverse. That way, I can check a trailer or the cute girls behind us.
I do wish they had the Nav and RES available together. We would have bought that. We do have a small portable DVD Player we can use in the car but the installed one being integrated is cool.
