I'm from the Cincinnati area (Alexandria is about 25 minutes south down I-471 then US 27) but I had to go to Louisville to get my pilot. My story went like this, I "discovered" the Pilot via the web on July 20th, read everything about it that I could for 2 days, called all the dealers in this area and only 1 (Wyler in Florence) even had one to look at, but even it was spoken for. I took a look, knew I had to have it, and began making some calls. I checked Dayton, Columbus, Lexington, Frankfort, and Louisville. The only place that had one was Louisville and by a bizzare coincidence it was pretty much exactly what I wanted, an Evergreen Pearl EX-L RES with side steps. The only thing it had that I didn't want was the $500+ backup sensors. The salesman at Swope said "the holes are already in the bumper so I can't remove them, but I just won't charge you for them." That was pretty nice of him considering he didn't have to budge on it, given the market for the Pilot. I told him to put my name on it and I would be down the next day. I took Tuesday, July 23rd off of work, drove my old '96 Intrepid down (they gave me exactly what I wanted for it) and drove the Pilot back home. Paid MSRP + 499 for the side steps, and again the backup sensors were free. The next day, I went back to Wyler and picked up the cargo tray and the rear mud guards.
I work downtown in the Carew Tower and cruise all over Northern KY. If you see an EP EX-L RES with a handsome driver, woman in the passenger seat with mouth moving rapidly, and two kids in back drooling over a Disney movie, just honk. It's probably me!
