Post #6 from the Ridgeline link.....

"--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Something like this is fine when you don't have to worry about emission inspections every year but for the rest of us, this simply isn't worth the cost or hassle of swapping the cats out every year. Not to mention the obvious increase in pollution by removing well proven smog control devices. I wouldn't mind more HP myself...but the Ridgeline is not a hot rod...never will be."

That pretty much sums up the sentiment around here at piloteers.org. Just substitute the word 'Pilot' instead of 'Ridgeline'.

Lots of old (and young) farts here on this forum that will echo this sentiment.

Personally, I love to tinker with cars to eek out just a bit more hp than the factory sent us. There has been NOTHING over the last 7 yrs to my knowledge in the performance category for the Honda Pilot.

One member turbo'd their Pilot, but I never heard much discussion about the gains. Another post featured a Pilot on nitrous.... but again, not a member here, just an article on a fire-breathing drag Pilot.

Seems like most of what we've been able to do on the Pilot is to add accessories offered by the factory.... sidesteps, fog lights, body trim enhancements, fancy rear view mirrors, etc... you get the idea.

Personally, I'm doing my research to find the perfect turbo for my 2001 Miata. Will have a turbo'd Miata by the end of the year!!!

I like power and wish something substantial were available for the Pilot, but it just ain't gonna happen.

Not all of us are old farts lol. I understand that what the post is saying but until some tries to do something nothing is gonna happen. With all the parts people are swapping and mixing I'm sure at some point re pilot could be a badass lifted 4x4.

I know some tried to use the intake from a ridgeline ad didn't have luck. What about suspenion parts? And maybe a 6spd swap with a floor shifter? I mean I have read just a j30 with a 6spd could easily get 27mpg. Maybe the awd setup from the tl could be what the pilot or ridgeline need to make a statement in the 4x4 community?

If you're interested in seeing what other parts are compatible with your Pilot, you might want to speak with the member hondamaint on this site. He's done all kinds of performance mods on the Pilot and Odyssey platforms. I believe at one point he's installed a 6-speed TL manual transmission with a dash mounted shifter in a race prepped Odyssey. See the following threads:
2010 Rallycross pilot
2011 NASA Rally Pilot

If you have the money and you're serious about installing performance mods for your Pilot, you might want to start looking there for some ideas.

I build cars as a hobby and I don't think I will ever touch our pilot. The great thing about the Pilot is its quite, smooth, and comfortable. You should look at getting a summer car or two in my case :-X

would love the j35 from my TL-s in the pilot...
