Default VTEC and you... Lights?

Quick question, mostly because I have done it on other Hondas... has anyone ever attempted to add a VTEC indicator light into a Pilot?

This was usually done by tapping a simple led into the dash and finding the VTEC wire from the ECU. It is silly, yes, and I don't think many folks would do it, but with the ECU pinouts.... you 'could' (and I'm just a sucker for DIY stuffs).

Why do you need a light when VTEC engages at the same RPM every time?

This is a mod that is relatively pointless, as there is no real reason to need to know when the VTEC engages. However, during my "tuner" days, the positive lead to the VTEC solenoid could be tapped to illuminate a lamp to indicate whether or not it was engaged.

For Xeption, VTEC is altering the camshaft profile for higher lift and duration (for higher power output) in the higher RPM ranges of the Honda motor. For low RPM use, the vehicle has a lower lift and duration cam profile for fuel economy and smooth operation. Essentially, it is like having two different motors in one.

Why? Why not. I don't plan to do it, just asking as I thought it was hilarious on my civic to see a little blue led light up when the solenoid was engaged. Putting one on a Pilot just seems like a LOL moment.
