My 2003 Pilot makes a strange air flapping noise, and at the same time the rpm jumps from 1400 to 1700. This only last for about a second and then returns to normal. The noise sounds like an air manifold flapping. This usually happens at a steady cruising speed of 40 - 50 mph. The air flapping noise is not very loud and sounds like it is coming from just under and in front of the driver side windshield. This happens with cruise control on or off, and with AC on or off.

Um... wouldn't this be better placed in the Problems section and not the Performance section. Assuming a trigger finger on the mouse is the contribution for that.
As for you issue, I'm a bit perplexed by the "flapping" noise. A jump of 300 RPM at 40-50mph should give you a speed increase as well, but I didn't see you mention that.
