Bubbles on window frame

Due to the recent hot weather, I have bubble on my window frame (black part, next to the weather strip). I do not if it the problem with the paint, or if the air got into the plastic (someone told me it is actually black tapes, and not paint). Has anyone the same problem?

I have the same bubbles on my '06. It's not paint but a vinyl decal. Kind of cheesy.............It's not a big deal but I'm going to make sure they write a ticket on it next service visit. This is to preserve my rights under warranty in case it becomes a bigger issue.

Post a picture if you get a chance. Are we talking about the front, side, or back window?

I don't know of any decals on the windows that came from the factory.

Vinyl is applied on the frames around the window, not the glass. On mine it is most obvious on the front passenger frame at the top. Not sure if a pic would show the problem. Look at the top edge, right side, of the frame, under the weatherstripping. Lousy pic, I know, spent all my money on the Pilot

Yeah, that's what I got.

Mine is on front passenger side window as well, top and front. (P.S., Is your picture reversed? It looks like driver side to me.)

Please let me know what does service guy say. Mine is still under warranty.

Talk to the dealer, Tupperware is right, it is just a black tape applied around window frame. They agree to fix it under warranty, but they said they are going to paint it, instead of reapplying the tape. Tape gives them lots of problem, according to them. Should I agree to let them paint it?

I would let them paint, provided they do all 4 doors.

Yeah, it makes sense if it is the rear door.

No, they are only going to paint the one that has problem, but they said it will match "perfectly."

Let me know what your dealer said.

Hmmm, I don't think I'd go for that solution. I'd definitely want all 4 doors the same. If it meant I had to get off of my wallet, I'll probably choose to have vinyl reinstalled and let them worry about the longevity of the repair. I won't have to consider my options for a month or so since I'm not due for any service at the moment. After I take it in I will advise what course of action my dealer recommends.
I'm predicting they attempt no repair at all, terll me it's normal wear, and hope I'll go away. That's how "service" businesses operate around here-they try to wear you down.

If your Pilot is still under warranty, I don't see how they can wiggle out of repairing it.

I noticed you also lived in Washington metro area, tell them that Herson's Honda at Rockville is repairing it as warranty repair.

If choosing between having to pay for vinyl and letting them paint, I will just let them paint it, since they guaranteed me that "it will match perfectly" and I can always complain if it does not come out so.

Besides, according to them, paint is a more permanent fix, vinyl tape may have problem again; and if the problem occurs after the warranty, then I would not have any recourse.

I will let you know if it comes out alright.

I got my Pilot back from dealer. The paint job was OK, and if you are not specifically looking for it, you would not be able to tell the difference between paint and the vinyl tape. However, they bent the side mirror molding when they did it. The dealer said it was "within tolerable range," and does not want to replace it.

Meanwhile I also notice another window frame developed bubbles as well (not as bad as the first one). Now I am reluctant to take it back to the dealer, fear that something else may be screwed up by them.
