Default Perfomance exhaust

An exhaust company has approached me to give them my '07 Pilot for 2 days and they will use it to develop an exhaust system for the Pilot. In return for use of the Pilot they will give me the prototype. What do you think?

What is the company name? Are they going for power or sound or both? Catback I assume? Stainless, one or two exhaust exits?

They company is Gibson Exhaust. They offer both stainless and aluminized steel. All the tubing will be mandrel bent. After looking at it they may use stock diameter tubing or the may increase it. It will probably have a single stainless tip. They say it will have a nice tone with no boom inside the cabin.

Don't really see the point in exchanging the exhaust system. It's very unlikey to increase the WHP more than 5 WHP and who want their family hauler to be any louder than it already is now.

I wouldn't mind a little more rumble and a little power boost. Cost would of course be a factor. Twin exits like the MDX would be nice too.

This would be nice if it could be fitted at a low boost setting. Might have to forget fording high water though. Look out Cayenne!

Id go for it. If you get the prototype and dont like it, you can sell it to me . They already make an exhaust for the Element and Ridgeline. They actaully have a sound clip for the Ridgeline exhaust on their site.

I think Borla makes one for the Ridgeline too, but it costs a LOT.

Has anyone already thought about trying an MDX exhaust system (cat back) on the Pilot? It looks like from a few diagrams I've seen online that some of the parts are identical, though I'd need to see them first hand. I'd like the extra rumble, the added WHP (if any), and especially the look of dual exhaust! My only concern would be the trailer hitch and pipe placement.

Default Go for it

We installed their catback on a F150. It's NOT very loud but at WOT it does give a nice sound..

i installed a gibson exhaust on a friend's f150 ('06) about two weeks ago. very nice welds and components.

the note was perfect. he has a 4 door cab, not loud or boomy at all in his cabin.

my wife would love something like this on our pilot (as would i). i live in irvine and would love to see the prototype. would it fit an '03?

I'd be interested in knowing if an MDX cat-back exhaust would fit the Pilot as well. I'm also wondering if it'd be less expensive to simply modify the existing exhaust.

I'd love to find someone to use my Pilot to test out an exhaust system. I say go for it.

I put a Gibson exhaust on my F250 SD, replacing a Flowmaster catback system. I liked the sound out of the Gibson, a bit mellower and a little quieter. I'd go for the offer, especially if they are prototyping a dual exhaust, preferably stainless.

Just keep in mind that they will test the limit of your Pilot's engine and rev it up high and put it through some harsh test. Is it really worth it?
