How did you measure 7.42 seconds... stopwatch?

Did you find that manually shifting gives you better acceleration than simply flooring it?

I was under the impression that if you kept the gas pedal planted to the floor that the transmission wouldn't shift until redline... essentially what you're doing manually.

wow...i see my thread has continued on...

vtecdan- That sounds really good, what kind of intake is that? I especially like the sound of the VTEC Crossover...definitely much more pronounced than in a stock pilot

thanks for the props guys its a 4wd and the intake was very simple i will post up pics of instructions on how to make one for under $35 and i was shifting manually at 6300rpm if you **** any later the truck will hit the 6500rpm revlimiter because the trans is electronically controlled it is noticably quick manually ****ing in drive it will shift each gear at 5900rpm <---which is where the peak horsepower is

shifting later is better because when you hit second you will be 600 rpms higher in the powerband which results in quicker acceleration

and thanks for the comments on the impala its a 96 its got 107,xxx miles and runs and drives great the person i bought it from had passed away and i knew him well and he took excelent care of it but like i siad im only 17 and it was priced right so i had to take it however i normally drive the pilot cause i want to keep my miles low on the imp

will have some pics and more videos up soon
also raced a nissan altima 3.5 with a nismo cold air intake and exhaust and i won in the pilot after we were done he couldent believe he got beat by a suv

once again thanks guys for the support and if anyone lives in the tri-state area tell me if you are going to honda day on sunday at atco

Yeah, im especially interested in seeing a video of the 6.8. I've never heard of a Pilot doing under 7.0, and stock mine did a 7.2...so if a $35 CAI could lower it almost 1/2 a second, that would be worth it!

Dont you think if you could somehow get air into the intake straigt from the outside like frome where the resonator is, you will be getting mor horsepower?

that is how mine is somewhat setup you cant just run a pipe w/ no filter because you will be running the risk of soakin up dirt and other not so good things

the pics wil be up later today on a new thread on how to make the $35 intake
