First define what you mean by "Better Performance".

Then describe what you are willing to put up with.

Then prepare to spend a lot of money.

I find that stickers placed all over the car (especially with random Japanese and Chinese characters), and a big wing, gives the best performance boost.

The Acura Type R(S) emblems provide the biggest HP boost..... .

Generally, the idea is to get more fuel in and out right?

So, free-er flowing exhaust is the first move. I dont know if there even is a system for the Pilot. Plus it will definately be louder if there is. Im always willing to do a cat-back exhaust since it cant really have a ill effect on anything else. You dont want to drop the back pressure too much in a naturally aspired engine so cat-back is perfect. But the noise.... I think Magna Flow and maybe Borla are the most mellow sounding. The guys at Magna Flow used my Ford PSD as the prototype for their new system for that engine and they were Cool guys to deal with! Maybe give them a call and toss out the idea... I would definately get a system for our Pilot

Then you can put on a cold air intake that flows higher volumes of air. The problem there is (if they even have it for the Pilot) ~the only way to flow more air is to have either alot more filter media surfact or less restrictive media. I dont think you will fit a larger filter in there and you dont want less restrictive media since that equates with less filtration.

A computer programmer or 'chip' or whatever can change the timing and fuel map, but you will definately have to run premium to see any gains.

I would say that , yes, it is possible to get more power/performance but there are alot of considerations.

........so lets talk turbos and superchargers

Trade (the Pilot, not the wife) for a RAV4 V6 - 0-60 in 6.3 seconds plus better mpg.

They also added over a foot in length, but you knew that already.

No third row seat option with the V6 RAV4, at least not in Canada. I guess they figure if you are schlepping around enough people for three rows you don't care about performance
