Popular Science dyno tested several "fuel saving devices" including the Tornado. They got a 10% reduction in peak HP and an increase in fuel consumption of 20%. They were probably a little more scientific in their testing than the Ody forum.

Who knows? Maybe those Ody testimonials were planted by the Tornado folks.
