Default 2011 Tire Question?

Have a 2011 Touring with Mich LTX M&S, has anyone replaced these stock tires with the low noise Mich's that are on the 2012/2013 Touring and if so, does it significantly reduce the road noise? Thanks!

Mich LTX are good but not best tires. I have a 2011 EX-L that came with the GoodYear and couldn't wait to get them off, they were noisy and cupped badly even though with routine rotation. I put on it the Michelin CrossTerain and they are awesome, I still have MTX on my other SUV that I will be replacing them with the CT in the next couple of months, they ar quiet, comfortable and great on Snow and/or rain, read all the reviews, you would not be dissapointed !

Latitudes are nice too but are too soft and whimpy for the Pilot, but they are comfortable and quiet but you will lose some of the ruggedness look and performance on cornering, other than that they are great.

So you don't like the Michelin Latitude X-Ice Xi2 winter tire (to which mmm666 refers)?

Which winter tire would you suggest, then?

If you get a decent All Season tire why would you want a winter tire with a Pilot, the vehicle is heavy and great on snow even with the front wheel drive, imagine the 4WD, why spend the extra $$$ for winter and summer when you can get a all season tire? Are you in an area where you see tons of snow on a continous basis all winter long and roads don't get attended to? If so where is that?

Before you try to change the subject, you derided the Michelin Latitude X-Ice Xi2 winter tire mentioned by mmm666.

Again, based upon your experience, which winter tire would you suggest as an alternate?

Also, watch this video:

The Primacy MXV4 isn't available in the OEM sizes used on Pilots prior to the 2012 model year.

The LTX M/S tires on your 2011 are already relatively quiet.
If you do think they're too noisy, you could try the Michelin Latitude Tour.
Don't expect a night and day difference, though.
If you're ready for new tires, you might consider getting the Latitude Tour, but it may not be worth replacing an otherwise good set of tires before they are close to being worn out.

I had a 20102 touring with factory LTX and then replaced with Bridgestone touring H/L Alenza at 100000kms. The Alenza were a little more quiet and offered a little better ride and handling.

Then I had a great opportunity to trade in and get a 2012 for $80 a month less. Well, the OEM Michelins on the 12 touring are VERY quite compared to the two tires i experienced on the 10 and the handling is vastly inproved ( the oversteer sucks, but this is fodder for another thread). Is it just the tire, no, Honda did put more sound damping material into the MM change 12. But, these tires do offer more than the stock LTXs, to bad they are not sized for the 09-11's.

New Alenza is of course going to be quieter than the worn tires. The Alenza gets noisy after some miles according to numerous reviews on tirerack.

Although Tire Rack does not carry 245/65 R17 Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Seasons, they are made in this size. And they are the 100% equivalent to the Michelin MXV4 in every way, except they also carry an XL rating in many sizes.

I ran both tires (MXV4 and Verde All Season) in the same day on my Pilot (long story) and I was extremely impressed with the Pirelli's.

If you cant have the MXV4's buy the Verde All Seasons, you wont regret it!

Some of your previous posts suggest that you value sharper handling (and stiffer sidewalls) over a more compliant ride.
In that case, the Pirelli could be a good choice for you - while, for others, it may be less than optimal.
