Your assumption is only half right, I do prefer sharp handling in anything I drive. And typically a stiffer ride in an SUV or Truck is fine by me. However, that is exactly the reason why I dumped the Pirelli's, they were no stiffer than the MXV4's. Like I said, they are EXACTLY like the MXV4. They drove and cornered just like the MXV4's, so much, that I could not tell the difference between them at all having changed back and forth in the very same day on the very same Pilot. |

I drove both of them on a Lexus RX350 and the differences seemed pretty distinct. |

I went with a set of Michelin Latitude Touring tires on my 11 Pilot. Very pleased with the ride and handling. I didn't go with the X-Ice Xi2 since the amount of snow and ice we get in Central Ohio is laughable. We did get around 8-10 between Christmas and New Years and the Pilot did much better than when I had the factory GY's on.

I replaced the GY Forteras with Michelin Cross Terrains and absolutely love the ride and handling, I did not want to lose the handling if I would have gone with the Latitude. and the LTX dud not come recommended by my Michelin dealer and they put the Cross Terrains on for free for me to test drive on them and after a week I went back and paid for them. I have had Continentals, michelins and GYrs on other SUVs I've owned and this by far outweighs all others, I truly think any Michelin tire would yield better result than any other tire out there, I've visited their testing track and went through their manufacturing as I am a car dealer and auto repair shop owner and I've seen first hand that they hand proprietary compound that no one else can imitate. Pay a little extra but wear a lot better than any other tire on the market, whether the Criss Terrains or any other depending on your driving habits, you will be glad you went with Michelin. Driving habits is key, latitudes are for the everyday non aggressive driver, LTX are all season but little stiffer than Latitude, the CR are snow, aggressive driver yet soft and comfortable. Hope this helps.

I just picked up a certified '11 Pilot and have about 3,000 miles on a brand new set of the OE Goodyears that the dealer put on for me:
These Fortera HL's are the worst tire that I've ever had on a Honda. Period. At about 65 mph I get a rhythmic/harmonic noise from the tires that is just ridiculous. I've never experienced it before. Too lazy to take it in to have it checked out, and too cheap to buy another set...so I'll just join this forum to b**ch about it...

. Go to a GY dealer and complain, they will buy them from you or prorate them and offer another tire. Sent from AutoGuide.com Free App

The Michelin LTX M/S was the OEM tire on the Touring version of the '11 Pilot. See how much the Honda dealer would charge to exchange the Goodyears for a set of the Michelins. |
