I wanted to post my thoughts on General Grabber HTS tires I've had on our 2004 pilot for about 1k miles now.
They replaced the horrible OEM Goodyear integrities. Off the bat, I could notice they they were much more quiet. Dry grip is significantly improved. I drove the twisties of hwy 17 confidently doing 60mph with no screeching or plowing. The pilot felt like a little nimble awd Audi.
Yesterday it rained heavily. I took the pilot out to test the wet performance and was even more impressed. There are a few turns and corners in my area where the integrities would just plow and understeer with mild acceleration, whereas the generals just stuck even under heavy acceleration! I then took it on the freeway and at 75mph it still didn't hydroplane. I didn't feel like pushing it harder, but I'm pretty sure it could have gone further without hydroplaning.
All in all, I'm VERY happy I bought these tires. I was contemplating on Kuhmo's and Michellin's as well, but after reading some other threads here, then reading the reviews on Tirerack, I decided to give these a try. I'm really glad I did. Perhaps the Michellin's are better, but perhaps not enough to justify the significant price difference. Anyway, I can't wait to test the snow performance in Tahoe soon. Will report back then.
