Default Who sells Stampede Sigma tires?

My 2004 Pilot has stampede sigma tires; seller I bought it from doesn't know where the tires were purchased from (he's the 2nd owner).
I was looking at having the tires rotated/balance for free but I have no idea if Discount/America's Tire can do that (don't see these listed on their site).
Any insight? should I trade them in for a new set of Michelins or Yokohamas? they've got some life left in them.

Any tire shop will do it as long as you pay them to do it. I think I paid around $60 and had lifetime balance/rotation at America's tire.

Thanks; I will check in with Discount Tire/America's Tire; my other cars' tires were bought from there. I personally don't like these ones; I think they are winter tires and not all season tires judging from their tire treads. I am in California and prefer all season tires.

If you can swing a set of Michelin LTX M/S2, Lattitude TR, or Bridgestone Alenzas, go for it. Your ride and noise level will improve to the point that you'll think you're in a different car. There's a definite difference when going to a 'premium' tire.

That is some kind of "special make up" tire run that you will find as a cost leader at discount tire stores. If you're not in love with them and they are close to the end of their service life skip the rotations and just replace them a bit sooner. Tire manufacturers have more mold time available then they have demand and lots of oddball names get slapped onto tires in china/korea etc. not the highest of quality most often but occasionally they do make a good tire with an odd brand name. Kind of the rare occasion though.

Give me the first 2 letters/numbers of the serial number on the tire and I can tell you which plant manufactured it. That will give a good idea of the level of quality. I suspect that these are from some lower level plant in China or Malaysia.

It says MADE IN USA on them. Does that mean they are good quality and I should stick with them for now?

They're made by Cooper Tires, which is a lesser known, but well-established brand. And it is a US-based company.

Unfortunately, the last and only set of Cooper Tires I've ever owned were downright awful (keep in mind this was 15+ years ago on a completely different vehicle). I experienced blow-outs on all four (during different timeframes) and even had pro-rated replacements blow-out on me. Eventually, I replaced them altogether long before they were at the treadwear indicators.

Personally, given that experience, I would not put my family in a vehicle riding on tires made by this company.

Just ordered 4 Michelin Latitude Tours from discount tire direct... they have a $70 off rebate on Michelins until 3/5/11 and an extra $50 if you use their CarCareOne credit card (thru 3/26/11). You'll also save on sales tax that you're charged if you were to buy in store instead. Great deal on a set of Michelins. Waiting for them to arrive before taking them over to local Discount Tire/America's Tire shop to install.

I'll bet my ride will be much quieter than with the stampede sigma tires and can bet on better gas mileage (got 16mpg on last fill-up driving 100% in city streets).
