Hi All, first post; have 2010 LX 4WD Pilot, want to rotate tires. Might be looking too much into this...but here goes.
For TPS; if I rotate tires left front to left back; and right front to right back, is there anything special I need to do with adjusting/resetting TPS? I looked through manual, note we have the LX only - the higher end models (Touring for example), have the ability, per manual, to show the pressue <per tire location>. So I'm wondering, for example, if the front tires are now on back axle post rotation, and the TPS shows low pressure; will the TPS show the correct tire. Again I might be looking too much into this - I'm not 100% if the LX model just does a yes/no for TPS, in general, for all four tires (then we'll need to figure out which tire is low); or if the TPS on the LX is tire specific; and there is some type of recallibration required telling the system that the tires have been rotated. Sorry if obvious question have looked through manual twice for this. Feedback most appreciated. |

I would recommend "X" forward and straight back (unless you have directional tires - which I doubt).

Thank You for the X recommendation - will do that plan; our first 4WD vehicle.
Until today, had a smaller hydraulic jack that would only let me raise either right or left side (used on our other passenger cars. Just bought a 3 ton SUV jack today that will raise 21", and four jack stands, after finding another post on the front/back jack points. This is a good site... Rotating tires and changing oil just easier to do in the garage that taking in to a chain store. In a hurry recently, before a family trip, I took my other vehcile in for tire rotation; 15 minutes later I was informed three lugs were "bad" (I rotated them myself up till then/no impact wrench). Plus I've had a "stripped" oil pan bolt a few years ago on another vehicle (had to pull the pan). Nothing against garages, but many a tire/oil change chain store - a person can be flipping burgers on a Tuesday, then new-hire to tire/oil change and slamming lugs on 15 minute rotations with an impact wrench on a Wednesday. Some things are just easier to do yourself (like tire rotation and oil changes). |

although, on another vehicle I owned, I had to replace the lugs on all four corners and on 2 corners twice. It didn't matter whether I did it, or a garage. It got to the point where I just took it to a garage everytime and I kept all my receipts and if they stripped, the garage fixed it for free instead of me. To this day I still have no clue why I had so much bad luck with lugs and that car. So sometimes it's better to have the responsibility fall on someone who has to pay for it, other than me.
