I have about 75,000 on my LTX M/S and they are getting down to about 5/32 and I live in the heart of the local snow belt. I planned on just putting same tires back on since they were outstanding, but just wondered if I should consider the new version? Any opinions or should I stick with the tried and true tire I have experience with?

I don't think we've had a thread on this. I've followed Michelin tires for 15 years and anytime they improve a product, go with the newer product.
I've had my LTX MS2 for only 1k miles and they are a really good tire. MPG has improved over the Alenza

would like to see the outcome as I'm in the market for new tires. My Pirellis ATR's are noisy as they can be. I live in the NY metro area we do not get much snow...so I have been reading reviews and comparison on Michelin tires LTX vs Lattitudes, but I like the looks on the LTX M/S2 better than Lattitude. My concern is that the LTX might be a heavy tire...Tracy/Rocky how you like your LTX's?

I have had LTX M+S on my SUV since 2006. I think they were good for the first 3 years (40-50K) then I started noticing they seemed to be getting less traction in ice. It's like the first layer was good then they started losing their grip. I have them on my 2011 and expect to replace them in a few years.

Ive had my LTX MS for 33000kms and they are still riding great. Maybe a little harder than the first 10000km but nothing too bad.

I have not been on in awhile, but I missed the sale at Costco on the Michelin's so I have not replaced mine yet. To answer er74 I love the m/s tires. This is the first winter I noticed the tires not providing excellent traction in the snow and Ice. The tires have at least 75,000 miles and are still serviceable even in the snow. I drove through major snow storm into work tonight, passed multiple cars that could not get up a large hill on my commute and others slipping and sliding all the way up. I did not slip at all going up, however, going down the hill I felt like I had to go slower than I would have in the past since they were slipping a little when I braked. I am sure I could wait till next winter to replace, but I would rather not take a chance. I also have the same tires on my other Pilot and they have given me the same solid performance. Hopefully Costco will put Michelin back on sale soon!

Still liking the MS2s. The only odd thing I've noticed is a whining like noise in rain. A little turbo like.....
