Bought an 06 EX-L AWD Certified Pilot with brand new Bridgestone H/T tires. Love the truck, but just did my first reasonably long road trip and the tire road noise and smoothness over bumps is driving me crazy, especially when compared to the Michelin Latitudes on my wife's 07 Pilot. So, who has had any luck with tire "swaps" within 1K miles of new installs to a DIFFERENT manufacturer?
I'm thinking I might get maybe $25 or so a tire credit off the new "shoes" for the shop to send my old shoes to a 2nd hand tire store. I do have the documentation proving the mileage @ install of the Bridgestones, but doubt the dealer will credit me on anywhere near the original price of the Bridgestones since the truck was transferred from another dealer and there's not a "safety" or real warranty issue here. Any recent experiences on what folks have gotten on swaps would help. Thanks! |

Short of selling them on Ebay or craigs list, you could try an independent tire store that sells both Michelin and Bridgestone and see if they'll do anything for you. It is not uncommon to swap manufacturers if you are not happy with the performance of the original purchase. But it is usually done from the original selling tire source.

If you don't ask you definitely won't get. You might end up being pleasantly surprised.

if you have one in the area (Same as tires.com). They gave me $15 each for trade in on my used GY Integrities which were half way or so. I didn't even request the credit. Liking my new BFG All Terrains though.
